Barmini by José Andrés

If you’re looking for a truly unforgettable foodie adventure in DC, then you best be adding the cocktail flight at Barmini to your list. Reservations need to be made about a month out and require a prepayment of $95 per person. Sounds steep, but for that amount you get a two hour experience of seven hand-crafted cocktails.

THE LOBBY

Gaining entry to Barmini is very speakeasy-esque. Once you arrive for your reservation, hangout in the small foyer until the host comes out to greet you. You can knock, but you can’t enter until your reservation starts.

Each cocktail is representative of a different country or culture that takes you on a tour de cocktail cuisine around the world! The preparation is arguably the best part of the experience as each one is prepared with a different technique that incorporates some gastronomy and other flavoring elements like smoke and edible perfume.

It’s important to take your time enjoying each cocktail! This is best accomplished by ordering some food about halfway through the flight to keep you upright. Trust me, you do not want to arrive or leave on an empty stomach.

This experience was perfect for a double date night or special occasion. Be sure to add it to your DC Foodie Bucket List!
