1. Crab Shack


Delicious seafood awaits you at the Crab Shack; Savannah’s favorite outdoor eatery. Undeniably the best all-around seafood restaurant in Savannah, this place is the perfect post-beach locale to visit for some delicious grub. Located on Tybee Island, the Crab Shack is just off Highway 80 (the main highway between Savannah and Tybee Beach). The Crab Shack boasts broiled (never fried!) seafood plates, sandwiches and BBQ (if you prefer grilled seafood to boiled).

Bringing little children? Take them over to see the baby alligators in the adjacent lagoon or take pictures at many of the wood cutouts on display outside of the restaurant. This restaurant will not disappoint.

2. Marker 107


Looking to take your significant other on a date away from downtown Savannah in a beautiful quintessentially-Southern setting? Look no further than Marker 107. Located a half hour south of Savannah in the Kilkenny Bluff of Richmond Hill, this lovely restaurant seems to hail from another era. Surrounded by towering Spanish moss-filled oak trees, this restaurants overlooks the delightfully charming marshes of Ossabaw Island. And, the “Miss Catherine” shrimping boat docked right outside the restaurant is a fun photo-op before dinner! This is certainly the most charming restaurant to visit for delicious seafood in an elegant setting.

3. Bernie’s Oyster House River Street


If you are in search of a seafood spot in a lovely riverfront historic locale, Bernie’s Oyster House on River Street is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner! As the name suggests, this establishment serves delicious oysters among other seafood specialties. Try your oysters with one of the several beers they have on tap. Make it an adventure and have fun shucking oysters with your date—you will be sure to make memories! If you’re not an oyster fan, try the low country boil and their famous ‘po boys’! 4. Love’s Seafood Restaurant

As seen in the award-winning film “Forest Gump,” Love's lives up to its name. You will fall in love with the fresh seafood, sunset views and Southern hospitality at this family-run restaurant south of downtown on the Savannah-Richmond Hill border.

Situated directly on the Ogeechee River, this riverfront restaurant specializes in seafood, steaks and Southern dishes. This lively Caribbean-inspired river bar and restaurant is definitely worth a stop during your trip to Savannah! 6. The Shell House Restaurant

This lakefront, family-owned restaurant is a hidden treat. Owned and operated by the Garrett family since 1988, The Shell House Restaurant serves up high-grade, deliciously sweet seafood and Southern favorites like red rice, hush puppies, cole slaw, and homemade tarter and cocktail sauces. It proudly prepares local seafood steamed, fried or grilled.

If you’re stationed nearby, this restaurant’s many large rooms are great for holiday parties, hail and farewells and promotion ceremonies! And, the outdoor dock is a fun location to let the children fish with cane poles while you dine inside.
